Small Box
Difficulty - Medium
Materials
- Pink foil wrapping paper
- Pink rose patterned craft or scrapbooking paper
- 2 inch wide sheer pink wired ribbon
- 1/8 inch wide pink satin ribbon
- 1 miniature pink rosebud, stem removed
Instructions
- Wrap a box in pink foil paper.
- Cut a piece of the rose patterned craft paper 1/2 inch smaller than
the width of the box and the length to wrap around the entire box
plus 1 inch.
- If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire
box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper, matching
the pattern, to achieve the desired length.
- Using double-sided tape, tape the inside of the craft paper in even
intervals at the edges. Apply to the box, centering the paper evenly
on the top of the box and overlapping the ends on the bottom of the
box.
- Cut two pieces of 1/8 inch wide satin ribbon long enough to wrap
around the entire box plus 1 inch. Glue the ribbon onto the edges
of the craft paper, overlapping the ends on the bottom of the box.
- Cut a piece of the pink sheer ribbon long enough to wrap around
the box three times.
Note: Ribbon measurements for bows are approximate.
The lengths may have to be adjusted slightly based on the size of
the box used.
- Centering the ribbon on the bottom of the box, bring both sides
of the ribbon to the center top of the box and tie in a knot.
- Using the ends, tie a bow the same way shoelaces are tied. Adjust
the loops so they are even with each other.
- Cut two 10 inch pieces of 1/8 inch wide satin ribbon. Holding them
together, feed the tails under the bow and tie a knot around the knot
of the sheer ribbon bow.
- To make the satin ribbon bow, hold the ribbon about 3 inches from
the end with your thumb and form a loop. Securing the loop with your
thumb, form another loop on the opposite side of the first loop. Continue
this motion, holding each new loop with your thumb, until you have
4 loops on each side.
- Tie the bow to the package using the satin ribbon tails.
- Separate the loops from each other, fluff the bow and trim the tails
to the desired length. Trim the sheer ribbon tails to matching lengths,
cutting them into a V shape.
- Glue rose bud onto the middle of the bow.
