Small box
Difficulty - Medium
Materials
- White shiny wrapping paper
- Silver beaded white scrapbooking or craft paper
- 4 inch wide silver edged, wired tulle
- 1-1/4 inch wide silver mesh wired ribbon
- Thin silver ribbon
- 1 Silver button
- 3 Clear beads (2 round and 1 chandelier)
Instructions
- Wrap a box in white paper
- Cut a piece of the silver beaded craft paper 1/2 inch smaller than
the width of the box and long enough to wrap around the entire box
plus 1 inch.
- If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire
box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper, matching
the pattern if possible, to achieve the desired length.
- Using double-sided tape, tape the inside of the craft paper in even
intervals at the edges. Apply to the box, centering the paper evenly
on the top of the box and overlapping the ends on the bottom of the
box.
- Cut two pieces of thin silver ribbon long enough to wrap around
the entire box plus 1 inch. Glue the ribbon onto the edges of the
craft paper, overlapping the ends on the bottom of the box.
- Cut a piece of both tulle and silver mesh ribbon long enough to
wrap around the box plus 15 inches.
- Layer the silver mesh ribbon on top of the tulle and wrap around
the box and tie as if the ribbon was one piece keeping one side longer
than the other. Make one side about 2 inches longer than the lenth
of the tail.
- To make the bow, make one loop with the longer ribbon tail, wrap
the shorter side of the ribbon around the loop the same way shoelaces
are tied but instead of creating a second loop, feed the short ribbon
end through to form a one-loop bow.
- Cut the tails to match each other with a V shape. If necessary,
glue the silver ribbon onto the tulle so it stays centered on the
tulle.
-
Glue the beads together at the ends.
- Glue the beads to the ribbon in a straight line just below the knot
and then glue the silver button onto the knot.
