Small Square Box
Difficulty - Medium
Materials
- Reflective silver wrapping paper
- 1 inch silver mesh wired ribbon with silver edges
- Thin silver wired ribbon
Instructions
- Wrap a box in silver paper.
- Wrap the thin silver ribbon 3 times continuously around the box
and tie ends together on the middle string, leaving a few inches for
tails. Don't worry if the ribbon crosses on the bottom of the box.
- Cut a piece of the silver sheer ribbon long enough to wrap around
the box three and a half times.
Note: Ribbon measurements for bows are
approximate. The lengths may have to be adjusted slightly based on
the size of the box used.
- Centering the ribbon on the bottom of the box, bring the both sides
of the ribbon to the center top of the box and tie in a knot.
- Using the ends, tie a bow the same way shoelaces are tied. Adjust
the loops so they are even with each other.
- Trim the ends to matching lengths, cutting them into a V shape.
- To make the bow, hold the ribbon about 3 inches from the end with
your thumb and form about a 2 inch loop in length. Securing the loop
with your thumb, form another loop below the first loop. Continue
this motion, holding each new loop with your thumb, until you have
8 loops on each side.
- Tie the bow to the package using the ribbon tails. Separate the
loops from each other, fluff the bow and trim the tails to matching
lengths.
Medium Box
Difficulty - Medium
This design is best suited for a square box
Materials
- Reflective silver wrapping paper
- 1 inch silver mesh wired ribbon with silver edges
- Thin silver wired ribbon
- 1 small silver mirrored ball
Instructions
- Wrap a box in silver paper.
- Wrap the thin silver ribbon 3 times continuously around the box
and tie ends together on the middle string, leaving a few inches for
tails. Don't worry if the ribbon crosses on the bottom of the box.
- Cut a piece of the silver sheer ribbon long enough to wrap around
the box four times plus 20 inches.
Note: Ribbon measurements for bows are
approximate. The lengths may have to be adjusted slightly based on
the size of the box used.
- Centering the ribbon on the bottom of the box, bring the both sides
of the ribbon to the center top of the box and tie in a knot.
- Using the ends, tie a bow on one side of the box the same way shoelaces
are tied. Adjust the loops so they are even with each other.
- With the remaining length of the ends, tie another bow on the opposite
side of the box to create a 4 loop bow, adjusting all loops so they
are even with each other and have a open form.
- Trim the ends to matching lengths, cutting them into a V and bending
them to form a nice shape. Keep the tails long so they will flow over
the side of the box.
- To make the bow, hold the ribbon about 5 inches from the end with
your thumb and form about a 2 inch loop in length. Securing the loop
with your thumb, form another loop below the first loop. Continue
this motion, holding each new loop with your thumb, until you have
8 loops on each side.
- Tie the bow to the package using the ribbon tails. Separate the
loops from each other, fluff the bow and trim the tails to matching
lengths.
- Glue one of the sets thin silver ribbon tails onto the center of
the silver mesh ribbon tails and the other onto the box on each side
of the 3 lines of thin silver ribbon.
- Glue the small silver mirrored ball onto the center of the bow.
Large Rectangular Box
Difficulty - Medium
This design is best suited for a rectangular box
Materials
- Reflective silver wrapping paper
- 1 inch silver mesh wired ribbon with silver edges
- Thin silver wired ribbon
- 1 small silver mirrored ball
Instructions
- Wrap a box in silver paper.
- Cut a piece of the silver sheer ribbon long enough to wrap around
the entire width of the box plus 1 inch. Center the piece of ribbon
on the top of the box and glue, overlapping the ends on the bottom
of the box.
- Wrap the thin silver ribbon 3 times continuously around the box
and tie ends together on the middle string, leaving a few inches for
tails. Don't worry if the ribbon crosses on the bottom of the box.
- To make the bow, cut a 14 inch piece of ribbon. Fold the ends to
middle and glue, overlapping about ½ inch to form a loop.
Note: Ribbon measurements for bows are
approximate. The lengths may have to be adjusted slightly based on
the size of the box used.
- Apply glue to the inside center to create two loops.
- To make the second layer of the bow, cut an 11 inch piece of ribbon.
Fold the ends to middle and glue, overlapping about ½ inch
to form a loop.
- Apply glue to the inside center to create two loops.
- Glue the larger of the two loops on to the center length of the
box and then glue the smaller loop directly onto the larger loop to
form a layered bow.
- Tie the thin silver ribbon tails into a knot over around the layered
bow.
Separate the
loops from each other, fluff the bow and trim the tails to matching
lengths.
- Glue the small silver mirrored ball onto the center of the bow.
