Gift Bag
Difficulty - Easy
Materials
- Medium lavender gift bag with stiff handles (plain gift bags are
inexpensive and easy to find at your local craft or party store)
- Lavender wrapping or scrapbooking paper (medium weight)
- Lavender color washed scrapbooking or craft paper
- 4 small lavender flowers (stems removed)
- 5/8 inch wide lavender sheer wired ribbon with satin edges
- 1 inch wide lavender grosgrain (ribbed) ribbon
- Decorative lavender tissue paper
Instructions
- Cut a piece of the lavender wrapping paper the full length and the
full width of the front of the gift bag.
- Apply craft glue to the inside of the paper and attach it to the
front of the gift bag, lining up the edges of the paper with the edges
of the bag.
- Cut a piece of the color washed craft paper 3/4 the length and the
entire width of the front of the gift bag.
- Apply craft glue to the inside of the craft paper and attach it
to the front of the gift bag, lining up the edges of the craft paper
with the bottom edge of the bag.
- Cut a piece of the ribbed lavender ribbon the entire width of the
front of the gift bag.
- Glue the ribbon to the front of the gift bag so it is centered over
the edge of the craft paper.
- To cover the handles, apply a small amount of glue to a few inches
of the back of the sheer lavender ribbon and wrap the ribbon around
the handle where it meets with the inside of the bag.
- Continue to add glue to the ribbon, a few inches at a time, as you
continue to wrap the ribbon around the handle, slightly overlapping
the ribbon as you go.
- Finish by cutting the ribbon and tucking the end behind the handle
where it meets with the inside of the bag. Repeat this process with
the other handle.
- Glue the 4 lavender flowers evenly spaced directly onto the ribbed
lavender ribbon.
- Cut two 4 inch pieces of sheer lavender ribbon. Fold each on in
half and cut the ends into a V shape.
- Separate the tails and mold them so they are shaped like an upside
down V.
- Glue the two ribbon tails onto the top of the gift bag, lining up
the edges of the ribbon with the top edge of the bag, centering the
ribbons under the handles.
- Fill the bag with layered lavender tissue paper to finish the bag.

Large Box
Difficulty - Medium
Materials
- Lavender wrapping or scrapbooking paper (medium weight)
- Lavender color washed scrapbooking or craft paper
- 3 small lavender flowers (stems removed)
- 5/8 inch wide lavender sheer wired ribbon with satin edges
- 1 inch wide lavender grosgrain (ribbed) ribbon
Instructions
- Wrap a box in lavender wrapping paper.
- Cut a piece of the color washed craft paper 2 inches smaller than
the width of the box and the length to wrap around the entire box
plus 1 inch.
- If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire
box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper to achieve
the desired length.
- Using double-sided tape, tape the inside of the craft paper in even
intervals at the edges. Apply to the box, centering the paper evenly
on the top of the box and overlapping the ends on the bottom of the
box.
- Wrap the sheer lavender ribbon 2 times continuously around the length
of the box, crisscrossing on the bottom of the box. Tie ends on the
top of the box, leaving a few inches for tails.
- Feed the tail under the other ribbon and tie a knot to cinch the
ribbons together.
Tip - Appling a small amount of glue
under the ribbon at each end of the box will prevent the ribbon from
slipping out of place.
- Cut a piece of the ribbed lavender ribbon the length to wrap around
the entire gift plus 1 inch.
- Center the ribbon on the box over the sheer ribbon, overlapping
the ends on the bottom of the box and glue.
- Tie the sheer ribbon tails loosely over the ribbed ribbon, making
sure the ribbed ribbon remains flat.
- To make the bow, cut two 8 inch pieces of both ribbed and sheer
lavender ribbon. Fold the ends to middle, overlapping about 1/4 inch,
and glue to form a loop.
Note: Ribbon measurements for bows are
approximate. The lengths may have to be adjusted slightly based on
the size of the box used.
- Apply glue to the inside center to create two loops.
- Glue the two ribbed lavender sets of ribbon, one at a time, onto
the center of the box to form a plus shape.
- Glue the two sheer lavender sets of ribbon, one at a time, onto
the center of the box at a angle to form an X shape, filling in the
open spaces between the ribbed ribbon.
- Glue three lavender flowers onto the center of the bow.
- Trim the ribbon tails to matching lengths and cut them into a V
shape.
